Welcome to my web page!

In this section I hope to give you a brief overview of the way I run my business.

Back in 2010 when, after almost 20 years of working at the larger brokerage houses, I made the decision to 'go independent'. I became an Investment Advisory Representative, IAR, with First Allied Advisory Services, for a myriad of reasons. My primarily motivation to move to an independent platform was to offer a singular focus on the needs of my clients. I decided to name the business after myself, not to be egotistical, but because over the years I have discovered my clients stay with me not because the name of the institution I was working for but because of the relationships that my clients and I developed together.

The name of the bank or brokerage firm wasn't the reason my clients stay with me, it was because of the trusting relationship that we formed together. So, at Charles R. Dunn Investment Advisors I appreciate your individual financial situation and know that your challenges and solutions are as unique as you are and deserve an equally unique approach to development and implementation of the financial steps needed to help keep you on the tracks to pursue your financial goals. I'll blend my many years of financial investment experience together with your dreams, goals and wishes and do my very best on a consistent ongoing basis to get the job done, and to get you where you want to be. I can get this accomplished in a kind and caring environment. I have said over the years that I have the best job in the world, as I get to talk on the phone to my friends all day long! You will find that you can call me for the simplest of reasons and receive a kind and courteous response.

Hi I am Chuck Dunn, proud father of 4 grown children, married to a wonderful woman for almost 30 years.

I spent my early years in what was then a small town, Phoenix Arizona. I went to a Jesuit high school and earned the opportunity to attend the University of Notre Dame, where I graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with Finance as my major. After college, still in my 20’s, and not quite ready for the corporate world, I teamed up with a Notre Dame classmate and started a whitewater rafting business in the wilds of Maine. It was there, in Maine, that I honed my business skills that I apply today. I learned to respect the sacred trust granted to me to protect the life and safety of my rafting clients. I learned the value of adhering to the strict protocol and attention to detail and prudence needed to run Maine’s wild rivers successfully. I also maintained a strong desire to constantly stay current with the latest best equipment and knowledge necessary to safely run these amazingly beautiful wild rivers. And, of course, I learned many of life’s lessons the hard scrabble way.

On my return to Arizona I carried these qualities with me. Top of the list was the importance of taking good care of my clients. To this day that is my promise, to do the very best that I can for the benefit of my clients. I was fortunate to have started my ‘stockbroker’ days with a really great firm founded in San Francisco called Dean Witter Reynolds, that merged to become Morgan Stanley. I honed my finance skills from the master professionals of the old school that built Dean Witter in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. Today, I apply these gifts learned in my practice. The beauty of my job is that there is always more to learn. My pledge to you is that I will bring forth these talents to build a coherent investment portfolio that makes sense for you. Your future financial successes are why I am here.
